Well WordPress is the most popular CMS Framework, which often gets hacked or is often subjected to malware or virus or bugs. Which take a lot of Time and and Money to maintain such a website.
Lets Look at the Pros and Cons of Wordpress website :
Pros:
We can make it like a blogging website with lots of pages.
We can design and run in individually, no coding skills or developer needed, which in turn will be cost effective, kindly note at only the start. And some more as you may know.
Cons:
Reasons NOT To Use Wordpress.
The immense popularity of the CMS, Wordpress has misled many to think that it must be the best option for everything....
Wordpress Is Bloated. ...
Wordpress Doesn't Have Special SEO Superpowers....
Wordpress Restricts Web Designers and Developers....
Wordpress people who design the websites think they have become.
Web Developers now, and start making websites and when their clients fall victim to their made sites, they would leave you in excueses, and would not bother to contact you again. Or may have to do some more work on your site for some more MONEY....
Wordpress Could Be More Secure.
Wordpress can be more secure as in, we have to add third pary plugins to make WordPress website work, WHY well Read More I will let you exactly know why as by my own personal experience and loss of valuable time. We have to use contact form of other third party themes, plugins, extension etc etc, which in turn could lead to have your compromised by viruses and malware, even could have your database compromised by using other third party outdated plugins etc.
Now here is the interesting part you'll have been waiting for.
Pros and Cons of simple HTML / HTML5 websites.
Cons :
Firstly let's look at the Cons, I don't see any.
Pros :
Developers love it, as its coded by themselves and can be later used by Backend developers too for adding more functionality to your website like Login Forms, Contact Forms, Subscriptions Forms, Uploading functionally and other forms that you may require.
The site is entirely yours with no third party plugin, themes, extensions etc. It's a TIME & MONEY & LIFE SAVER believe me.
The site is rarely or as to none compromised as per google, as there is no Database, and so no place to store your client data in it. Which will leave no reason to worry for it to being hacked. Hackers need data driven websites, your client details for that matter and where it is stored. Simple HTML websites don't have the need to store your client details, Just press the send button in the contact form and the contact form details just directly goes to your email, so securely... :))
Now here is the Hard Way I have Experienced with WordPress and many may agree to it.
I was just designing a website on WordPress, and I was working and coding on a my own Theme. So in the meantime I just made two testing contact forms of WordPress and hosted on my server.
I went back to developing my own theme.
Firstly Waste of Time : I did a blog site which was and coded it in Frontend. The Frontend HTML site worked prefectly well, Then I had to code it in Backend on WordPress, I was documenting the whole process at the same time. On my developing it in Backend in WordPress I realised that my homepage slider which has to catch attention is not working at all. So I had to search for Third Party plugins. Also some functionality was was working, which were working in the simple HTML files. Again for those functionalities I had to use more WordPress codes, example drop down menus etc, just to have that same look of my Developed HTML site. Now this is such a waste of time.
Secondly Waste of Money : And after some days of documenting and coding, I just went to check my hosting to see it there are any futher requirements for the website contact form as it was just a plain contact form. To my surprise I found out that there were many virus leaking into my hosting from those two particular contact forms as they were of WordPress, This came to my knowledge from hosting experts. They even adviced me to take the site down as it would affect my other sites on the server. This happened due to Third party plugin update which was costing additional money and I did not update it. Also Third party contact form of Wordpress.
So you see in my experience I have been hit. I did not take this site down, but instead just DELETED these two testing contact form sites as there were merely Contact Forms of WordPress and not some client website, there it would really be a big problem for me as well as the client. For me Time and Money wise, so my client a big worry, Time, Money, Client Data breach etc. Loss in total.
But still others would disagree to this article post, as many big companies have their sites working on WordPress and will continue working with WordPress, but others don't see they spent TIME & MONEY & PEOPLE to maintaining such sites. You can future do a research for your own concern on does Wordpress websites get hacked or simple html websites get hacked ?.
And the answer will return as No, because HTML is markup, not a programming language.
So feel free to contact me if you have a requirement for a simple HTML site for your personal presence or business.
